Prague has been on the top of beautiful cities in Europe and in the world since the Medieval times. The location of Czech Republic, the lively old town of Prague full or entertainers and the amazing architectures of buildings from Gothic, Baroque, Rococo, to Renaissance makes it a great destination for tourist, backpackers and budget travelers.
Walking around the Old Town, there are many buildings with striking features and unusual appearance. Check this :
This Church is one of the building that you will see in the Old Town of Prague. This has been the main church since 14th century and had been changed over the course of time from Romanesque, Gothic to Baroque appearance by various architects. It has been renovated when it was heavily damaged by a lightning strike on the 16th century. Renovations on some parts of the church, the interiors is still on going up to this day.
This is a very interesting clock with a legend and become one of the tourist attraction in Prague. The Astronomical clock announces every hour and miniature apostles moving aside. The origin of this clock is vague but as per an old document found in 19th century, stated that it was Mikulas of Kadan, the real inventor of the clock in 14th century. Most of the parts are replicas to the original pieces which was damaged by German armies during the World War II.
The Powder Tower previously called the New Tower, resembles the look of the tower in Charles Bridge. It is one of the thirteen city gates of Old Town built during 14th century and used during coronation ceremonies on the 18th century where people would pass to this tower going to the St. Vitus Cathedral. The Powder Tower got his name from storing gunpowder on the 17th century. The tower was heavily damaged during the Battle of Prague.
During the 14century, this hill was the vineyards of Charles IV. Besides grapes, the hill was also used for the cultivation of hops. This was the site of the Battle of Vitkov.
Zizkov Television Tower be found in the hill district of Zizkov. Built between 1980’s to 1990’s which is an example of the latest architecture of the modern world.
One more thing to see in Zizkov Vitkov Hill in Prague is the national Monument which is one of the most important building in Prague built in honour of the Czechoslovak legionaries. The statue on horseback is Jan Zizka of Trocnov.
There is a Tomb of the Unknown Soldier located underneath the statue of Jan Zizka.
At present, National Museum has acquired the rights of the the National Monument. The life documentary of the legionaries and the history of the war was carefully designed on the walls of the monument.
Other Churches in Prague:

Markets and Food Stalls around Prague:
Trdelnik is a traditional Hungarian sweet/pasty of Hungary but you can find throughout Europe. It is a grilled dough with sugar and some wallnuts on it. Some with cinnamon or chocolate flavors. Also known as Skalick.
Old Town activities, entertainers, musicians, vintage cars for rent, carriage and more:
I arrived in Prague from Hungary at 4am in the morning. It was 8hrs. train ride with 2-3 times border/ ticket checking that cost 52euros (56$). I took a taxi from Praha Hlavni Nadrazi Station to my hostel which cost only 5euros.
Overall, Prague is a romantic place . Affordable and very charming. Prague is very touristy and I really love this place. If ever time will let me visit this place again, for sure I will go. There are also nice places, medieval and old towns in Czech Republic to visit and that I really regret why I did not go. That would be Cesky Krumlov and Karlovy Vary.

One of the things to remember, be aware of the taxi prices or the distance of the place that you are going to. There have been many complaints, reports and even reviews online about the taxi scams in Prague. If you are are going to take a taxi on the designated taxi area with a sign ‘TAXI” be sure to discuss a fix price, if you let the driver use the meter, he will take you round, around a very small area and tell you its one way so he needs to take another way, that willt make your the taxi meter up to 50euros even you can walk that within 20mins. if you have a map and (basically in the old town).
Be careful if the taxi driver will drop you on streets with dim lights, some drivers will change you with other currencies, that almost or the same color with euros, it happened to one of the guest at the hostel. Be sure to check your change, and don’t be in a hurry to get out. Don’t be a victim.
