Memories of Bali – Part Two

The sights, attractions or land marks in Bali are far from each other, consecutive days of moving within the island made me exhausted. I stayed in Ubud and visiting the sights will take 9-12hrs a day. There are few sights that I wasn’t able to visit and there are days that I prefer to stay at the resort/ villa.

Another day in Bali, we (with my tour guide/driver) visited the some temples, sanctuaries and beaches.

The Monkey Forest – which is a few miles away from the resort. It is a sanctuary and a temple complex with more than 500 monkeys located in Padangtegal Village in Ubud. Some monkeys grabbed bags and other stuff of tourist. As of now the entrance few is 50,000 Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) or 4$. To check more about the sanctuary please click here.

The Elephant Safari Park Lodge. I bought the Park Day Tour, with an elephant named Cindy, from Borneo. I was so amazed that Cindy can play harmonica. The tour cost 90$. You can check for special packages here.

Ubud Rice Paddies, looks familiar to you if you have watched the Eat, Pray, Love movie, where Julia Roberts rode a bicycle. Check here for the film location.

Dreamland Beach is a beautiful beach. It’s pristine blue water is very inviting but this is a treacherous beach. This is a surfer’s haven. There are bars, hostels and cafes around but a red warning flag says ” Swimming Prohibited”.

Uluwatu Temple is a cliff side temple with magnificent view and a good place to watch the sunset. There are many monkeys around, so be careful with your belongings. Entrance fee is 3-4$.

Bali is definitely a paradise. They have the best infinity pools, cottages in an astonishing places, intricate designs of walls or houses, huge marble stone statues, an open shower, good cuisine, great pubs and cafes, and luxurious villas or resorts in the middle of the rice fields, forest or at the hilltop.

When in Bali don’t forget to visit, Tanah Lot Temple.

If your are interested to know about my driver and guide Mr. Agung, let me know.
